Jordan Heinold said she enjoys math and physics — and it seems those are helping her on the basketball court, as those parabolic curves really come in handy when you’re dealing with the arc of the ball to the basket.

Heinold is a 6-foot-2 standout for Immaculata, and that height she inherited from her 6-foot-8 father.  Jordan’s two other favorite sports are soccer, which helps her in the quick footwork that is needed for the game of basketball, as well as tennis, which improves her speed.

During the summer she enjoys competing as a forward/guard, and she’s looking to come back bigger and better than ever this season. Last year Heinold averaged 22 points per game, 11 rebounds as well as three steals during last season as a junior, which helped earn her All-Western New York third-team honors. She also surpassed the 1,000-point mark.

Her great genetics stem from her father, a Division I forward who played for Canisius. Jordan’s older sister, Taylor, also earned All-WNY honors for Immaculata — the two played together when Jordan was a freshman.

Immaculata coach Andrea Drabik is making sure that the talent around Heinold gets her the ball, but she does a great job of doing that by herself.  Her teammates don’t expect her to be the leader of the team but she contributes in multiple ways.

Jordan practices with fire. She is one of WNY basketball’s bright and shining stars, who is an all-around achiever who knows what she wants in life, on and off the court. She loves to study but would rather be studying basketball.

Heinold hasn’t decided yet on a college, but she does know that she wants to play the sport that her father introduced her to. She was tall, like her dad, and she took off like a rocket towards taking her basketball career to new heights.
